FreeApplique.com - Free applique patterns to dress up your sewing projects. Applique can be done without a fancy machine (as can embroidery, though you have to do it by hand) so it’s an easy way to dress up clothing or home décor projects.

Get Creative - A huge list of techniques, free sewing projects, fashion and wardrobe seminars and tips. Most of the projects are home décor, but there are also some clothing and accessory projects. Other than their sewing section, they also have sections on quilting, needlework and wearable art. A pretty extensive amount of information.

Nancy’s Notions - Quite a few projects in various categories. The hints section is particularly useful, and I highly recommend the needle chart to figure out which needle size/type you need for specific purposes.
