A Blast From the Past

Do you remember where you first met? Where you first kissed? Your favorite hangout when you first started dating? Take that knowledge and use it to create a wonderful day for you and your partner. Make a pilgrimage to the place you first met and take the time to walk down memory lane. My husband and I do this occasionally, in one form or another. Neither one of us has a logical reason to drive 2 hours to visit some of the places where our relationship first bloomed. Despite that, every time we take the time to do it, something magical happens. We always end up holding hands on the car ride home as we remember and our relationship is strengthened every time we take that walk down memory lane. Since we met when we were still teenagers, our old haunts are pretty affordable as well. If yours aren't, you can make them affordable. Drive past the place you were married, drive past your old school (or work or wherever you spent time together) and talk about the things you did together. Once you're done, you can eat at home with a candlelight dinner if you wish. The entire idea of this suggestion is to bring up your shared memories and past. Not only is it sweetly romantic, but it always reminds both of you why you fell in love in the first place.
